Structure of computer systems using processors, memories, input/output devices and interfaces as building blocks. Instruction set design and implementation. Memory hierarchies and pipelining. Issues and tradeoffs involved in the design of computer system architectures with respect to the design of instruction sets. Parallelism and its exploitation in specific machines such as hypercube and transporters.
