Course Description

The purpose of this course is to share individual experiences of the residents in the surgery room and the prosthetic outcome with fellow residents. The students will explore alternate treatment possibilities and finalize the treatment plans for their patients, all based on current literature and concepts. Presenting individual cases will allow the students to share the challenges they have to face, and share their mistakes, in the end sharing those experiences will prevent others from making the same mistakes. During this symposium the students will present the cases they are treating in the clinic, where an interdepartmental discussion will lead to a finalized treatment plan. A discussion of new and advanced techniques will be presented to the students in order to tie in what they learned in the didactic course to what they need to apply clinically. Some of the topics that can be discussed are implant placement in the esthetic zone, guided bone regeneration, site development as well restorative options.
