Course Description

This course is designed to cover the mathematical and statistical material required for entry into Econometrics II. The course aims to provide students an introduction to econometrics models and techniques, emphasizing regression analysis and statistical inference. Advanced topics include instrumental variables, measurement error, and limited dependent variable models. The course will also spend a considerable amount of time mastering a statistical computer software package designed especially for empirical economic analysis. At the end of the course, students should be able to conduct a mini project and critically evaluate econometric and other statistical evidence.
