Course Description

This module is organized in two parts. First part focuses on situating and qualifying sustainability with-in digital fabrication on the scale of the building element. Con¬struction processes are related to concepts of sustainability, life cycle, impact of materials and relationship to the user. And the second part focuses on situating and qualifying sustainability with¬in the building project on the scale of the entire building. Students will be guided through a life cycle assessment and ac¬counting on buildings and furthermore receive an introduc¬tion to aspects of building performance to modify their projects accordingly to comply with sustainable goals.
