Approaches to conservation of urban heritage. Definitions, keywords, contextual considerations, levels of intervention and procedures. Conservation of historic areas, core principles and developed standards of practice. Complex characteristics of urban heritage. Frameworks for planning and managing appropriate conservation processes. Problem of cultural discontinuity, and contemporary trends at the urban level.
