Khaled Hussein Abd El Galil earned his bachelor degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mansoura University. He received his M. Sc. in Pharmaceutical Sciences (Microbiology) in 2000. In 2005, Khaled received his Doctor of Philosophy in Pharmaceutical Sciences (Microbiology) from Mansoura University after having 2 years scholarship at the University of California-Riverside, USA in the period between 2002 and 2004. He was assigned as an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mansoura University, Egypt. In the period between 2008 and 2010, he got a grant as a GCOE researcher (Global Education and Research Center Aiming at the control of AIDS), Department of Retrovirology and Self Defense, Faculty of Life Sciences, Kumamoto University, Kumamoto, Japan. In 2011, he was promoted to Associate Professor in Microbiology. In 2012, Khaled earned a Postdoctoral Fellowship at Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering Department University of Connecticut, Connecticut, USA financed by STDF. In 2013, Khaled joined Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Beirut Arab University as an Associate Professor of Microbiology. At the year of 2016, Khaled was promoted to Professor of Microbiology & Immunology at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mansoura University. His research interest is the evaluation of expression level of different genes involved in the pathway of different drugs.
Dr Khaled has more than 13 years of teaching Pharmaceutical and Medical Microbiology, Industrial Microbiology, Immunology, Parasitology, and Public health. Supervision of PhD, Masters and Pharm D thesis. He did many Research Activities in the Designing of DNA probes, PCR primers and synthetic RNA by cloning technique. Combining different techniques for the detection of viruses and bacteria in environmental and food samples. Optimization of RT-PCR, Nested RT-PCR and NASBA conditions for sensitive detection of the viral RNA. Cell culture techniques for the detection of characteristic proteins expressed in different cell lines. He has been Working on HIV-1 virus and finding out the mechanism of HIV-1 resistance in different animal species. Nowadays, he is working on the use of drug combinations for reducing the virulence factors of multi-drug resistant bacteria. Publications in high-impact scientific journals (more than 22 scientific articles).
