Laila Helmi

Laila C. A. Helmi is an associate professor at the English Department, Faculty of Human Sciences, Beirut Arab University. She attained her PhD degree in 2005 from the Faculty of Arts, University of Alexandria, for an interdisciplinary dissertation entitled A Linguistic Analysis of the Strategies of Appropriation in Some Selected Postcolonial Novels. Her current interests focus upon Translation Theories, Critical Discourse Analysis, Literary Theory and the Novel, and Translation. In addition to academic papers, she is published with Fusul, Akhbar el-Adab, and Sotour. She has also published full-length translations with Nahdet Misr Publishing House and the Bibliotheca Alexandrina in Egypt, and Garnet in the USA.
