Ayman Trad

Assistant Professor


Ayman TRAD, PhD, is an assistant Professor at the department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Beirut Arab University, Lebanon.

He received his Doctoral degree and ME degree from the National Institute of Applied Sciences of Lyon - France in 2011 and 2008 respectively. 

He obtained his B.E. in Civil Engineering from the Lebanese University, Tripoli - Lebanon in 2007.

Prior to joining to the Beirut Arab University, he was a Structural Engineer at the Study and Research Center of the French Concrete Industry (CERIB) from 2012 to 2015. 

He was Research and Development Engineer at GTS Company from 2008 to 2011.

Dr. Ayman has served as a member in the french and European standardisation committees: CEN/TC250/SC8 in charge of the revision of the Eurocode 8, CEN/TC250/SC6 in charge of the revision of the Eurocode 6, TC125 in charge of the revision of the specification and testing standards of masonry products, P10A in charge of the revision of the NF DTU 20.1.

Research interests: Development and analysis of new retaining structures used for rockfall, avalanches or slope stability. Development of new precast concrete products incorporating recycled materials. Analysis of the resistance of concrete structures subjected to fire. Assessment and rehabilitation of historical masonry structures.
