As such, it provides individuals with the necessary scope, intellect and ability to make informed decisions on how to improve their lives. This is achievable through research conducted in sociology and psychology, as well as on the media and the languages. Topics covered under this subtheme focus on family development, gender and development, family systems, socio-cultural diversity, combating illiteracy, empowerment through education, the preservation of local communities, among other.
