Evaluation of some new drugs used in the treatment of cardiac disorders

Abstract

This thesis is concerned with the development of analytical procedures, which would be feasible, sensitive and specific for the determination of the cardiovascular drugs in their laboratory prepared mixtures, their pharmaceutical dosage forms and biological fluids. Artificial Neural network method has been developed for the simultaneous assay of Ticagrelor, Irbesartan and Hydrochlorothiazide in spiked human plasma. Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR spectroscopy) assayed Perindopril Arginine, Amlodipine Besylate and Indapamide, as single components. Spectrophotometric chemometric methods including Fourier functions, its ratio derivative and H-point standard addition methods have been developed for the simultaneous determination of the binary mixtures Rosuvastatin Calcium and Clopidogrel Bisulphate, Pitavastatin Calcium and made tablets and rat plasma by RP-HPLC methods using spectrophotometric detection. Also, Pitavastatin Calcium and Candesartan Cilexetil binary mixture was determined in laboratory made tablets and human plasma by RP-HPLC method. Finally, Azilsartan medoxomil and Chlorthalidone binary mixture has been determined in its formulated tablet, that is newly introduced into the Lebanese market, by RP-HPLC. The proposed methods were validated and statistically compared with reference methods where no significant differences were found.
