The President of Beirut Arab University, Prof. Amr Galal El Adawi, received a certificate from Times Higher Education (THE) Arab University Rankings for the year 2022, during the MENA UNIVERSITIES SUMMIT that was held in Kuwait on November 29th , indicating that Beirut Arab University was ranked 11th in the Arab world. Beirut Arab University also ranked 1st in Lebanon. The five pillars used in the THE Arab University Rankings are Teaching, Research, International Outlook, Society and Citations.

BAU is proud of its achievement as the top ranking institution in Lebanon. According to THE data reporter Patrick Jack, “Despite living through an ongoing economic crisis that the World Bank has called one of the worst in more than a century, Lebanon’s Universities scored second best overall in the Arab rankings…Lebanon, despite all its problems is a remarkable story of resilience.” Universities in Lebanon were recognized for their outstanding performance in teaching and the dedication of their academic staff despite the dire economic situation and how that reflected on the institutional income to academic staff.

BAU recorded the highest total score in the five pillars among the Lebanese Universities, and the highest score was on the “Teaching” performance indicator with an overall score of 92.1 which stands to show BAU’s commitment to excellence in Higher Education despite all odds.
