Course Description

The course discusses the functions and food sources of nutrients required for optimal health and development of youth, including protein, carbohydrates, fats, water, vitamins and minerals. The course focuses on the importance of nutrition in the provision of energy and growth, including development of bone density and blood production. The course also illustrates the impact of food behaviours on youth health and development as well as predisposition to chronic diseases.
