Dr. Kaddoura is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Zayed University, UAE. She was honoured with the "Woman Leader in ICT Excellence Award" at the 25th Global Women Leaders Conference 2023, recognizing her exceptional leadership in her domain. Additionally, she received the "Young Woman Researcher in Computer Science" award at the 8th Venus International Women Awards (VIWA 2023) for her ground-breaking research. With a commitment to knowledge dissemination, Dr. Kaddoura has authored the book "A Primer on Generative Adversarial Networks" published by Springer Nature. She has also edited the book "Handbook of Research on AI Methods and Applications in Computer Engineering". She has been invited as a keynote speaker at various conferences and has been invited to contribute by various magazine articles, further establishing her as a thought leader in her field. Recognized for her commitment to teaching excellence, Dr. Kaddoura is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, Advance HE (FHEA) since 2019. This distinction highlights her dedication to professionalism in higher education.

What motivated you to pursue your current career or path after graduation?

After graduation, I was fascinated with the ever-evolving field of computer science which drove me to pursue a career in academia. I was eager to contribute to the field through research, mentorship, and teaching, fostering the next generation of computer scientists while pushing the boundaries of knowledge in this dynamic discipline.

What challenges did you encounter along your journey, and how did you overcome them?

One of the key challenges in my journey as a computer scientist has been the rapid evolution of the field. New technologies emerge constantly, necessitating continuous learning to stay current. To overcome this, I've embraced a lifelong learning mindset, dedicating time to ongoing professional development and staying connected with a network of experts and peers who share insights into the latest advancements.

What advice would you give to current students and recent graduates looking to follow a similar path to success?

As an assistant professor, I would recommend current students and recent graduates to consider pursuing advanced degrees and engaging in research. Building a strong academic and research portfolio can open doors to rewarding teaching and research positions, where you can make a lasting impact on the next generation while advancing the knowledge within the domain.
