Biography

Prof El-Lakany is a graduate of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Alexandria University, year 1982. Based on academic excellence, he was granted a PhD scholarship from the Faculty of Pharmacy, Alexandria University (1988). His PhD thesis work focused on identification of active compounds from biologically active Egyptian medicinal plants. He has published several original research articles in high impact journals in the medicinal plants domain.
In 2005, he was appointed as the vice-dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy Alexandria University. In 2008, he was appointed as the dean of the Faculty of pharmacy at Beirut Arab University BAU, Beirut, Lebanon.
