BAU life support center authorized by AHA

Beirut Arab University celebrated the opening of the it’s Life Support international training Center, which was accredited internationally by the American Heart Association, on March 31 which marks the last day of the "Heart Saver" month, in the presence of Mrs. Zahraa EL Hilali,the Regional Director of the American Heart Association, the president of the order of Nurses in Lebanon Dr. Nihad Doumat, Dr. Michel Ibrahim representing the president of the order of the Physical Therapy in Lebanon and a number of hospital directors and health sector workers in Lebanon.

This center targets at educating and training students and all those who wish on the basic life support (BLS) skills since in cases of cardiac arrest, which is a cardiovascular problem where the heart stops abruptly, survival depends on the patient receiving immediate cardiac pulmonary resuscitation from someone close to him, which increases the chances of being saved by two to three times. Heart disease ranks first on the list of the deadliest and fastest-growing diseases in Lebanon and the world, where many heart patients die while waiting for an ambulance.

The Center aims to launch these courses to change this painful reality by training students, employees and the society of Beirut Arab University of and its surroundings so that they are mobilized when the need to save patients quickly and successfully.

The BAULS center is planning to add Advanced cardiovascular life support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced life support (PALS) in the near future.
