The Faculty of Medicine , Beirut Arab University,
launched its first medical campaign named "SALEMTAK" campaign. With the
participation of around 50 medical students and in cooperation with
around 30 physicians , residents and specialists, the troops headed to
the South of Lebanon where it resided in Al-Klayaa village. The campaign
extended from August 12th to August 21st, during which the students
visited two to three villages/day in mobile clinics covering the region
of Hasbaya, Marj Oyoon, and down reaching Bint Jbeil.
The troops, both in the fixed and mobile clinics, provided free medical
services and free medication to people in need and to whom such services
are too far or too expensive to reach.During the 9 days campaign , the
troops visited 18 remote villages, managed around 1000 patients in the
mobile clinics and around 300 patients in the fixed clinic.This was a
marvelous experience to every participant which implemented the fact
that helping others and giving can be very joyful and rewarding.
