Mission

To create and maintain a learning environment that encourages critical thinking and acquisition of comprehensive knowledge. The program aims to develop leaders in the field of nutrition who can contribute to health promotion through scholarly research and effective prevention and management of nutrition-related disorders. The Master of Science in. Nutrition program focuses on promoting the professional skills of the graduates through a multi-disciplinary approach. This enables graduates to implement up-to date evidenced based practices at both the clinical and community settings.

Admission Requirements

  • Applicants for the Master's Degree must hold a Bachelor Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics, Biology, Biochemistry, or any health related disciplines from Beirut Arab University or any recognized university with a minimum CGPA of 2.33 for credit hour system students and ''Good'' for the academic year system students.
  • Evidence of English proficiency (BAU English Test: 60, TOEFL:520 OR ILETS:5.5)

Graduation Requirements

The Master Degree requirement in Nutrition requires the completion of 36 Credit hours taken as follows:

Students who passed 70% of the courses with a minimum CGPA of 2.33 are eligible to register the thesis along with the remaining courses.

The student loses the right to proceed in the program if he did not complete the requirements according to postgraduate bylaws.

  2. Nutrition consultant and director of the dietetic department in hospitals
  3. Developing and conduction of nutrition programs and interventions in public health agencies and organizations
  4. Nutrition consultant for planning diet menus in schools, nursing homes and large institutions
  5. Nutrition consultants in pharmaceutical companies specialized in dietary supplements
  6. Presenting health awareness programs in television or radio
