BAU Hosts the “Annual Meeting of the Scientific Society of Arab Nursing Faculties” And harvests the “Distinguished Thesis” in “Nursing Award”

The Faculty of Health Sciences at Beirut Arab University hosted the “Annual Meeting of the Scientific Society of Arab Nursing Faculties” for two consecutive days in its Premises at Beirut Campus with the participation of the deans of the nursing faculties in Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt, Iraq and Saudi Arabia.
The meeting was attended by the Vice President for Medical Sciences at Beirut Arab University Professor Essam Osman who informed the attendees of the subsequent developments at BAU on the scientific and medical levels, the latest of which was obtained at the level of the International Accreditation of all Programs at the Faculty of Health Sciences. Professor Osman also called for shedding the lights on the humanitarian role in nursing and demanded governments to show interest in this regard through encouraging scientific and applied research.
The discussion session highlighted the current situation of the nursing faculties and departments in the Arab world and the subsequent developments in the teaching methods and mechanisms as well as the role of research and the practical aspects in the development of nursing and their reflection on the relationship between universities and hospitals.
The General Secretary of the Scientific Society of Arab Nursing Faculties Dr. Dalal Bashir emphasized the need to support research and reminded the audience of the Society’s mission to foster cooperation with the members to prepare high quality Arab nurses. 
Dr. Mirna Fawaz from the Faculty of Health Sciences at BAU was granted the “Distinguished Thesis” in “Nursing Award” from the “Scientific Society of Arab Nursing Faculties”. 
The attendees toured the Faculty of Health Sciences and its facilities to learn more about its equipment and the applied and scientific environment offered to students especially the advanced laboratories that simulate the hospital environment.
