Biography

Myriam Younes received her PhD in Public Law in 2013 from Jean Moulin University- Lyon 3 in France and her Masters Degree in 2008 from La Sagesse University in Lebanon. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Law from La Sagesse University in Lebanon in 2000 as well as her Diploma in “Juriste d’affaires”.  She is Assistant Professor in the Department of Public International Law and Assistant Dean at the Faculty of Law & Political Sciences. She works as International trainer and consultant with several International Organizations and NGOs including OHCHR, UNDP, Friedrich Ebert Stiftung, etc.

At BAU, Myriam Younes taught: Public International Law, International Organizations, International Economic Law, International Humanitarian Law, Legal Methodology, Human Rights, Woman and Human Rights, Fighting Human Trafficking.

  • May 2013: Presenting a training to 25 Human Rights Defenders (from KSA & Bahrain) on "Monitoring and documenting Human Rights Violations". Permanent Peace Movement in partnership with Foundation for the future (Bahrain) & Bahrain Human Rights Society.

     

  • October - December 2012: Presenting a training to fellows from the Middle East on "Minority Rights", in the framework of the 2012 OHCHR Minorities Fellowship - Geneva.

     

  • July 2012: Presenting a training to The Ministry of Communications of Iraq (MoC), "Fighting Corruption", Training organized by Knowledge and Science Association - Iraq.
