Beirut Arab University Celebrated the Medical Specialization Commencement Ceremony

The event was attended by H.E. Deputy Khaled Zahraman, Ambassador of Palestine H.E. Dr. Abdallah Abdallh, Head of Beirut Order of Physicians Dr. Sharaf Abou Sharaf, Representative of the Head of Order of Physiotherapists in Lebanon Dr. Rami Abbas, Director of Dar al Ajazah Hospital Mr. Azzam Houri, Heads of the medical bodies in the above mentioned hospitals, President of Beirut Arab University Prof. Amr Galal El-Adawi, Secretary General of Beirut Arab University Mr. Issam Houri, Dean of Faculty of Medicine Prof. Mohamad Khedr, Deans of Faculties , Director of Public Relations Department Mrs. Zina Ariss, faculty and staff members in addition to interested doctors.

After playing the Lebanese and the University anthems, Dr. Abou Sharaf congratulated the future doctors and demanded that all the medical institutions along with the Lebanese authorities endorse the Lebanese doctors in order not to immigrate to foreign countries and deprive Lebanon of their expertise. He promised to implement the laws and regulations that help raise the pension and added that the Order is in the process of developing a medical insurance project to serve the doctor and his family. Moreover, he stated that a unified prescription for all doctors will soon be applied, a Specialist Board Committee will be formed, and that the Colloquium Exam Committee will be re-evaluated.

Professor El Adawi emphasized the major role played by the physicians in the lives of individuals. In his speech, he recalled the commitment that Beirut Arab University has made towards providing the society with highly qualified doctors. He thanked all the medical institutions which have always shown devotion and collaboration with the university in hosting all the graduated doctors. He urged the physicians to act as the ambassadors of the university and to be committed to quality standards in their career being one of the major careers in the world.
Dean of Faculty of Medicine Professor Mohamad Khedr expressed his pride towards this special ceremony and affirmed the great impact these future doctors are going to leave on the society and on people’s lives. He emphasized the doctors' persistence to offer quality health services and urged them to always seek knowledge and education.

In their speeches, the directors of the hospitals emphasized the importance of cooperation between Beirut Arab University and these hospitals. For them, celebrating the graduation of the seventh batch of medical specialization is an incentive to look forward to more collaboration and mutual cooperation with respect to training in the various specializations.
The ceremony ended with the distribution of certificates among the doctors followed by a reception.
