BAU Celebrated the Medical Specialization Commencement

Beirut Arab University celebrated the Medical Specialization
Commencement Ceremony on the 22nd of June 2010 in Jamal Abdul Nasser
Hall within the premises of Beirut Campus.
During the commencement ceremony, 37 doctors graduated from 16 different
specializations after being promoted with the Residence Program from the
hospitals of Hammoud, Makassed, Sahel, Dar Al Ajazah Al Islamiah and
Rafic Hariri University Hospital.
The event was attended by Head of Beirut Order of Physicians Dr. Sharaf
Abou Sharaf, Heads of the Medical Body in the above mentioned hospitals,
a large number of doctors, President of Beirut Arab University Prof. Amr
Galal El-Adawi, Secretary General of Beirut Arab University Mr. Issam
Houri, Dean of Faculty of Medicine Prof. Mohamad Khedr, Deans of
Faculties and faculty and staff members.
After playing the Lebanese and the University Anthems, Dr. Abou Sharaf
congratulated the future doctors and asked all the medical institutions
along with the Lebanese Authorities to endorse the Order of Physicians
so that the Lebanese doctors would not immigrate to foreign countries
and deprive Lebanon of their talents and expertise.
Prof. El Adawi emphasized the major role played by the physicians in the
lives of individuals. In his speech, he recalled the commitment that
Beirut Arab University has made towards providing the society with
highly qualified doctors. He also expressed his gratitude towards all
those who shared in this success.
Dean of Faculty of Medicine Professor Mohamad Khedr, expressed his pride
towards this special ceremony and affirmed the great impact these future
doctors are going to leave on the society and on people’s lives. He
promised that cooperation with other hospitals shall be considered as
Beirut Arab University is marked with high quality education.
In their turns, the directors of the hospitals emphasized, in their
speeches, the important role of cooperation between Beirut Arab
University and these hospitals. They mentioned that celebrating the
graduation of the sixth batch of medical specialization which coincides
with the celebration of the Golden Jubilee of quality education offered
by Beirut Arab University is an incentive to look forward to more
collaboration and mutual cooperation to handle training in the various
specializations.
It is worth noting that a recent agreement was signed between Beirut
Arab University represented by its President Prof. Amr Galal El Adawi
and the CEO of Saida Governmental Hospital Dr. Ali Abdul Jawad which
deals with academic cooperation and clinical training for senior
students at the Faculty of Medicine.
