Ekhtelaf mn doon Khilaf by Mohamad Hafzah:
Who said that “human rights” is about liking each other?
I didn’t, and obviously not even Gandhi did that too
That's what I've learned during "ekhtelaf mn don khelaf", my first
tremendous experience which taught me that out in this world exists not
only living humans, but also a worldwide laws that protect them no
matter how different they are, and whether I like them or not. These
laws are known as "human rights", and one of these rights is the right
to be different.A lot of activities were done during that period; and one of them was to
mark participants with different colors on their backs. The concept was
to describe the current reality: similar colors meant similar thinking.
But after an intended chatting session with each and every member, we
were asked to find our "brothers and sisters in color" without looking
to the colored stickers. The shocking fact was that the only two members
that I've liked and respected the most were in other teams.
In short, difference is something neutral, and the rational case would
be using this difference to make the world a better place, not to
distance between us as humans and that was the core of the activity.Search for difference and learn from others by creating a common ground.
