Prof. Hassan Hallak's
lecture “ How to Benefit from History to Build the Present and the
Future”
Professor
Hassan Hallak delivered a lecture entitled “How to Benefit from History
to Build the Present and the Future” on 17th of December, 2010 in Jamal
Abdel Nasser Hall within the premises of Beirut Campus. Prof. Hassan
Hallak is a member of Wakf El Bir and Al Ihsan Board of Trustees and a
lecturer in the Faculty of Arts.
After playing the Lebanese Anthem, Prof. Amr Galal Al Adawi, President
of Beirut Arab University introduced Prof. Hallak who has become one of
the main contemporary figures of the Lebanese history whereby he has
published a lot of books which are considered the main documentations in
the Lebanese history in general and Beirut memories in particular.
In his lecture, Prof. Hallak stated that the study of history is not
limited to the past, but to the present and the future as well. He
emphasized the importance of making use of past experiences to pave the
way for the present and the future.
He illustrated his point of view by presenting many examples from
ancient and contemporary history.
