have decided to focus our efforts on four areas that we think are vital for the
success of our students. We are helping our students become adept at navigating
the global economy, at developing an entrepreneurial mindset and becoming strong
ethical leaders.

Our Faculty are at the forefront of management thinking. They are recognized internationally as leaders in business research and have demonstrated their ability to share that knowledge with students and with private and public sector organizations through research centers and targeted projects.
In short, both our undergraduate and graduate programs offer a mix of classroom and “real world” experience delivered by a faculty committed to helping students advance themselves in the fast-changing world of business.

History of the Faculty
The Faculty of Commerce and Business Administration (FCBA) was established in 1961 at Beirut to provide young men and women training and correcting instruction in the knowledge and in the arts of modern Finance and Economy, both public and private, in order that, being well informed and free from delusions upon these important subjects, they may either serve the community skillfully as well as faithfully in offices of trust, or, remaining in private life, may prudently manage their own affairs and aid in maintaining sound financial morality: in short, to establish means for imparting a liberal education in all matters concerning Finance Management, Accounting and Economy.
Following university restructuring the Faculty was formed by uniting the former departments of Economics, Management and Accounting and Finance. Research in business subjects however has a long history at BAU embracing these majors.
Nowadays, prospective students can earn a bachelor degree. A Master degree and join PHD programs or choose different forms of studies which enable students who graduated school a number of years ago or those who are working to study at university. Lately a number of people who want to continue their studies at university after a certain period has been increasing. A possibility to work and study at the same time is very important for them.
In order to fulfill the needs of students, most of the courses are available in the faculty. Courses consist of management, accounting, economic and finance and high-level specialty subjects related to international business, as well as covering areas common to all fields, including seminars, information processing, and reading and discussion of external materials. Courses on law, music, arts, dental, languages are also offered by staff from other faculties.
The Bachelor Degree requirements consist of 138 Credit Hours where the
standard duration of study for a bachelor degree is 8 semesters .The first 6
semesters of study are general for all students. Specializations begin in the
7th Semester.
To be accepted for an undergraduate degree, applicants must:
• hold the official Lebanese Secondary School Certificate in a branch relevant
to the chosen undergraduate field of specialization, or an official equivalent;
• pass an admission examination in English Language.
The Faculty of Commerce and Business Administration offers Diploma, Master and PhD Degrees.
Diploma in Tacation and Business Sector
The Diploma in Taxation and Business Sector requirements consist of 20 Credit
Hours.
Master Degrees
BAU offers 2 master degrees:
1- Master of Business Administration(MBA):
The 22-month BAU/MBA program curriculum is comprised of four consecutive
semesters and an industry project or a comprehensive case study for a total of
45 Credits. Students can also elect to enroll in all or part of the Pre-Core
program, a preparatory program that prepares incoming students for the demanding
nature of the Integrated Core experience
2- Master of Science in all areas of specializations:
The Master of Science Degree requirements consist of 46 Credit hours.
PhD Degree
The PhD Degree requirements consist of 52 Credit Hours.
1. Applicants for any of the postgraduate diplomas must hold a Bachelor
Degree obtained from BAU or any other recognized university.
2. Applicants for the Master Degree must hold a Bachelor Degree obtained from
Beirut Arab University or any recognized university with a minimum CGPA grade of
“C”; or a Specialized Graduate Diploma with a minimum CGPA grade of “C” or its
equivalent.
3. Applicants for the PhD Degree must hold a Master degree from Beirut Arab
University or any other recognized university that qualifies him/her to pursue
their PhD.Master & PhD students should pass the TOEFL exam with at least an
average of 500, or IELTS, or its equivalent in other languages before
registering for the thesis.
