Arab University celebrated the opening of the Environmental Studies
Center in Bekaa on the 19th of June 2010 on the occasion of the
completion of the center's infrastructure.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Lebanese Deputy Dr. Ammar Houri,
President of Beirut Arab University Prof. Amr Galal El Adawi, Secretary
General of Beirut Arab University Mr.Issam Houri, Deans of Faculties,
and faculty and staff members.
After a tour on the different sections of the center, Prof. El Adawi
expressed his extreme pleasure and pride towards the accomplishment of
this center and explained the different phases of construction and the
importance of establishing such a center which provides and facilitates
the research process especially that it lies in a distinguished
geographical region which is rich in various natural resources. He also
stated that Beirut Arab University has spread education all over the
Lebanese Territories as it is now, in addition to Beirut Campus, in
Debbieh, Tripoli and Bekaa regions as well.
It is worth noting that the Environmental Studies Center in Bekaa lies
between Jdita and Taalbaia villages, 45 km far from Beirut and 1 km far
from Chtoura across Damascus International Road. It is 150 m in length
and it lies 890 m above the sea level. It consists of 18 real estates
with an area of 183.391 m2.
