Beirut Arab University Exhibition for Entrepreneurs
Keeping pace with the Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW), the Centre For Entrepreneurship (CFE) at Beirut Arab University (BAU) organized an exhibition for Entrepreneurs under the auspices of Minister of Economy and Business, Nicolas Nahhas, represented by the Director General of the Ministry, Fouad Fleifel in the presence of the president of BAU, Professor Amr Galal El- Adawi, the deans of faculties, BAU Secretary General, Mr. Issam Houri, and broad participation of students.
The exhibit hosted a number of large commercial institutions whose representatives presented to students the stages of development of their respective institutions starting from drafting the ideas to executing those ideas and all the way to achieving success.
The Director of the CFE, Dr. Leila Abboud, opened the exhibit with a speech emphasizing the role of the CFE in supporting and encouraging the youth ideas no matter how simple they are. She also emphasized the importance and thus the effectiveness of psychological support prior to financial support in the promotion of Entrepreneurship spirit in general, and students’ and youth spirit of initiative in particular. This was followed by a speech given by the President of BAU, Professor Amr Galal El- Adawi, who noted that the role of CFE stems from the university’s mission and is based on keeping up with students until they find the suitable career chances and encouraging the culture of Entrepreneurship.
To this end, the Director General of the Ministry of Economy and Business, Fouad Fleifel, presented the procedures for and areas of the ministry’s support of projects through small and medium-term loans offered by the centers affiliated to the Ministry and are spread in all regions of Lebanon.
The CFE at BAU was launched on 20 October 2011 and aims at defining, promoting and disseminating the culture of Entrepreneurship. The CFE is built on solid scientific foundations, provides the technical support and all possible facilities for the submitted projects, and is concerned about developing scientific research and making it more solid by relating research topics to the needs of the Arab society in general and the Lebanese society in particular.
