Prof. Nihal Mostafa
Appointed as a Regional Representative for EMUNI in the Middle East
As Beirut Arab University has achieved fifty years of
distinctive quality education, and as it has always sought educational
development and faced the age challenges in all its academic phases, Mr.
Joseph Mifsud, President of the Euro-Mediterranean University Forum (EMUNI),
visited Beirut Arab University in an attempt to affiliate and activate
the recent joint membership. EMUNI includes 114 universities from
different Mediterranean countries and is funded by the
Euro-Mediterranean Parliament, the Ministers of Higher Education in the
Mediterranean countries and the Arab League
.
Prof. Amr Jalal El- Adawi, President of Beirut Arab University
accompanied Mr. Mifsud in his tour and they both discussed the different
ways of achieving the high goals of Quality Education along with
cultural diversity in a well-prepared international, academic and
scientific atmosphere with the cooperation of all EMUNI members.
Mr. Mifsud also had a very fruitful meeting with Prof. Nihal Mostafa,
Dean of Faculty of Commerce and Business Administration and team leader
of the project. During the meeting, Mr. Mifsud announced that the
European Union had appointed Prof. Mostafa as the EMUNI representative
for the whole Mediterranean region. Thereby, they discussed the
arrangements of a scheduled action plan that will cover three main
ranges of activities which are the academic, scientific and the
technological cooperation within the Mediterranean Union.
In the same respect, Beirut Arab University participated, through its
EMUNI representative in the Middle East Prof. Nihal Mostafa along with
the Faculty member Dr. Samira Kaissi, in the “Euro-Med Innovation
Marketplace” Conference organized by EMUNI University. The Conference
was held from the 25th till the 28th of January 2010 in Cairo – Egypt
under the patronage and in the presence of the Minister of Higher
Education and State for Scientific Research Prof. Hani Hilal.
