Biography

Dr. Amr Samy received his PhD from Idaho State University in 2006 and MSc in Finance from City University, London in 2003. He obtained his B.S. in Business Administration from Helwan University, Egypt in 1995. He was Assistant Professor in Ahram Canadian University from 2009 till 2011, Akhbar El-Yom Academy from 2007 till 2009. He is Assistant Professor of Business Administration in the Faculty of Business Administration, Beirut Arab University from 2011 till present.

Teaching

Teaching Exprience

Before joining BAU, Dr. Amr Samy taught at The Arab Academy for Financial and Banking Sectors the following courses: Risk Management, International Finance, Investment Management, Advanced Financial Management, Financial Institutions Management and Quantitative Methods (postgraduate Level), Portfolio Management,  Operation Research, Distribution Institutions Management , Logistics and Material (undergraduate level). At Akhbar El-Yom Academy he taught Decision Theory, Purchasing and Inventory Management, Financial Management, Research Methods, Operations Research. He taught Introduction to Banking, Corporate Finance, Finance Theory, Securities Analysis and Managerial Ethics at the Ahram Canadian University.

At BAU, Dr. Amr taught Business English,Quantitative Business Analysis, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Business Ethics, Financial Math, Financial Management(undergraduate level) and Total Quality Management,  Banking & Financial Institutions (postgraduate level).

Supervision

Activities

  • Contributing to the setup of training programs pertaining to organizational development of some pharmaceutical manufacturing companies as well as some cement manufacturing companies through the Center of Leaders Training for Public works sector of the Ministry of Public Work Sector (Known now as the Ministry of Investments).
  • Contributing to the setup of training programs to the petroleum companies through "Manar Misr for Petroleum" mainly in "Human Resources Sciences".
  • Contributing to the setup of training programs to the Ministry of Communication through The Arab Academy for Sciences, Technology, and Maritime Transport in co-operation with “A.U.C. (Alexandria)” mainly in “Soft Skills Management”.
