Biography

Dr Issam Shaarani, Lecturer of Family Medicine, Beirut Arab University since September 2015; Specialist in Family Medicine 2014, American University of Beirut. He was the Family Medicine Chief Resident for the year 2014-2015 at the American University of Beirut Medical Center. He obtained the Arab Board of  Family Medicine in 2015.  Dr Shaarani was one of the trainers in a training program organized by the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health, in collaboration with the WHO, targeting  the Lebanese general practitioners . He also worked with UNDP as Community Medicine Expert on primary health care projects.
Besides his private clinical practice, Dr. Shaarani practices Family Medicine in a community oriented primary health care center. His main research interest is physician-patient relationship, social determinants of health, disease prevention and screening, health and social media, medical education, and care of the refugees, where he has many ongoing research projects. He wrote two chapters in a book issued by the Lebanese  MoPH  in 2014, entitled  “Clinical Management Protocols for the Most Common Health Conditions in Primary Care” .(Dr Issam Shaarani Cv)
