ORTD 421   Orthodontics I

The course familiarizes students to the clinical application of orthodontic biomechanics and will be acquainted with the biology of tooth movement and effects of different types of force application on cells and tissues. The students will be able to understand the severity of malocclusion through understanding the principles of orthodontic biomechanics. Differentiate between mild, moderate and severe dentofacial deformities and present to the patient the most suitable treatment mode, and the relation between adaptability of tissues and results of dentofaical orthopedic pressures. .Potential and limitation of various orthodontic appliances.
