ORBL 224   Oral Biology II

Cr: 2  (2 Lec., 1 Pract.)  Prerequisite ORBL 223

The course provides the dental students with basic knowledge and skills regarding the microanatomy and ultrastructure of the oral mucosa, and the relationship of oral mineralized tissues to oral soft tissues. Also familiarize them with the general composition and main structural features of alveolar bone and the principles that regulate bone formation and resorption. Finally provide knowledge about the process of shedding and eruption, salivary glands, temporomandibular joint and maxillary sinus.
