Being one of the leading institutions in the Lebanese society, Beirut Arab University held an honorary reception for the board of the members of Beirut Municipality who succeeded in the latest municipal elections for 2010.

The reception was held on June 1st 2010 within the premises of Beirut Campus at 7:00 p.m. in the presence of the representative of the the Lebanese Prime Minister Deputy Dr. Ammar Houri, the Egyptian Ambassador Mr. Ahmad El Bidiawi, President of Beirut Arab University Prof. Amr Galal El Adawi, Secretary General of Beirut Arab University Mr. Issam Houri, Deans of Faculties, BAU Alumni and Faculty and Staff members.

President of Beirut Arab University Prof. Amr Galal El Adawi congratulated the Mayor Dr. Bilal Hamad as well as all of the new members of Beirut Municipality and expressed his extreme delight since two of the new members, Lawyer Mr. Abdel Hafiz Ghalayini and the Pharmacist Mr. Samer Soubra, are graduates of Beirut Arab University.

Prof. El Adawi stated that Beirut Arab University has always contributed in establishing links of communication among all generations and the various sectors in Lebanon and the Arab region.

He wished the Municipality Members all the best and invited them to participate in a conference to deal with the means to solve crises of different kinds to be held by Beirut Arab University next year.

In his turn, Dr. Bilal Hamad thanked Beirut Arab University for this generous hospitality and promised that the new Board will work harder to lead the City of Beirut to more progress and development via the unity of its people.
