Overall Aims of Course
The course aims to provide students with the specialist knowledge regarding the chemical constituents of crude drugs containing plant alkaloids in addition to medicinal plants tissue culture; focusing on concepts and practical skills about methods of extraction, identification, qualitative and quantitative determinations, beside good information about structural activity relation-ships, stability of medicinal plants constituents and their pharmacological importance. In addition, ability of analyzing, interpreting and evaluating chemical constituents of crude drugs and pharmaceutical preparations were highlighted.
