Houssam Chrayteh

Assistant Professor of Pure Mathematics

Houssam Chrayteh received his PhD in Applied Mathematics in 2012 from the University of Poitiers in France and a Research Master in 2008 from the University of Tours in France. He obtained his BS in Pure Mathematics from Lebanese University in Lebanon in 2007. He is Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science and program coordinator in Tripoli campus. He worked as a lecturer for the academic year 2012-2013 in the University of Paris Dauphine in France.


Teaching Experience

Before joining BAU, Dr Houssam Chrayteh taught Analysis III, Differential Calculus and Optimization at Paris Dauphine University. Research Interests

The aim of our research is to study the existence and regularity of solutions for eigenvalue problems involving a multivoque operator A on a smooth domain. We note that the theoretical formulation of problems related to such operator is essentially based on the notion of Clarke sub differential. For this reason, we introduce new variation methods that match the resolution of these issues in the “subcritical” case where compactness plays an important role and “critical” case when we lose compactness. Various applications are studied in this field, for example, an anisotropic operator with variable exponents and an operator with a Hardy type weight.
