An Honorary Doctorate from BAU

Beirut Arab University will launch its “Fifty-Fifth” Class of Graduates for the Academic Year 2017-2018 at its Annual Commencement Ceremony on Thursday, June 28, 2018 in Debbieh Campus. Professor Sir Magdi Yacoub, the Keynote Speaker of the Ceremony, will be awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Medicine from BAU in recognition of his efforts, experiences and achievements which have enriched the fields of medicine and Heart Surgery in Egypt and the world. Choosing Professor Sir Magdy Yacoub was based on BAU’s Strategy which calls for community service, updating the graduates with the latest developments in the field of research and introducing them to the experiences and achievements of leading figures who have enriched the scientific fields and are distinguished not only in their countries, but worldwide. BAU, as well, aims to annually shed light on creative and successful figures during the ceremony. In this context, the President of BAU Professor Amr Galal El Adawi praised the achievements and the efforts of Sir Yacoub, who raised the humanitarian torch in helping the patients all over the world. Prof. El Adawi emphasized on the major role played by Beirut Arab University in honouring remarkable figures who marked Humanity in their achievements and innovations ensuring on continuing this Cultural- Academic March.
