The Egyptian Minister of Investment and International Cooperation Dr. Sahar Nasser, together with an Egyptian delegate, visited Beirut Arab University-Beirut Campus where she met with BAU President Professor Amr Galal El-Adawi. Dr. Nasser was welcomed at BAU in a formal reception attended by Egyptian Ambassador Nazih Najjari, President of Waqf El Bir Wal Ihsan Saeed Jazaeri, faculty deans, BAU Secretary General Dr. Omar Houri, academic staff and university directors.
On this occasion, Professor El-Adawi delivered a speech, welcoming the Egyptian guest and thanking her for her visit in the hope that it would serve as a platform to promote cooperation in all educational realms between Lebanon and Egypt. El-Adawi praised Minister Nasser’s achievements and reviewed the subsequent developments at the university as well as the objectives to be achieved within the framework of the university general strategy until 2020, referring to the University's philosophy based on enhancing the role and involvement of women at the administrative and academic levels.
In her speech, Minister Nasser expressed her happiness at visiting Beirut Arab University and her readiness to cooperate with the university in order to establish a culture of investment in the students themselves with all their aptitudes and abilities. She also expressed her admiration at procuring all the necessary facilities in all fields at the university.
The meeting included a film about BAU faculties, departments and facilities as well as a discussion with the academic staff members. In the end, President El-Adawi presented the honorary shield to Dr. Nasser in honor of her achievements.
