The students of the Faculty of Civil Engineering at BAU won the “2nd Place Bowling Ball Analysis Award” out of 54 American, Arab, and International Universities in an International Competition “ACI International Competition” organized by the “American Concrete Institute” and which was held at the Salt Lake City in the United States of America.
BAU Team was supervised by the Faculty Advisor Professor Oussama Baalbaki and consisted from the students: Ahmad Moustafa Shamseddine, Yasmine Moughrabi, Hassan Ghamloush, Ahmad Serhal, Mohamad Ali Kabbani. This team had been qualified to participate in this competition after winning the first place among the Lebanese Universities, and this wining comes for the first time for an Arab University.
The competition consisted of a lightweight concrete ball with specific specifications, whereby a number of tests were carried out on it. The result of the total score was determined by the winner who received the greatest number of points.
