The course focuses on the nature, composition and specific needs of individuals throughout their life span. It covers the physiological changes and requirements during infancy, childhood and adolescence, adulthood and the elderly with special emphasis, on the needs during periods of physiological stress such as pregnancy and lactation.

The course aims at gaining knowledge in nutrition during the normal life cycle. The course will review major biological issues of importance from the standpoint view of human nutrition in pregnancy, lactation, infancy, childhood, adolescence, adults, and elderly. The course will focus on the physiological changes, nutritional requirements, and nutrition-related health problems and nutritional problems throughout life cycle. The role of proper feeding and nutrition throughout life cycle will be stressed.
