COURSE DESCRIPTION
The course will provide an overview of nutrition related non communicable diseases (NCD’s) and their prevention through diet and lifestyle modification. The students will have an insight on the risk factors for these diseases in terms of nutrition transition and socioeconomic determinants. The main emphasis will be on nutrition strategies and public health recommendations to curb the growing epidemic of over-nutrition and its related health problems.

COURSE AIM
The course will provide the student with the knowledge background to reduce diseases risk and enhance health by implementing evidence based nutrition strategies.

TEACHING AND LEARNING METHODS
Illustrated lecture using personal computer, data show and white board.
Research work.
Group discussion.
