In our days, we often use the terms "depressed" or "suicidal", without really knowing what they mean or how deep they are.

Depression is often underdiagnosed, and it is a common misconception among our society, to treat people suffering from depression differently from people suffering from other physical diseases like diabetes for example... This stigma implanted among ourselves is negatively delaying both the diagnosis and the treatment of these mental illnesses. For this reason, the faculty of medicine BAU, through the Lebanese Medical Students' International Committee (LeMSIC), organized a Mental Health awareness campaign at Beirut Campus, entitled "Value Your Mind" on Wednesday 1st of november 2017.

Students from different faculties participated in this awareness, through educative games and activities that helped them grasp the main concepts regarding depression and suicide, focusing on the warning signs, symptoms and preventive methods.
