The cognitive behavioural therapy for obesity (CBT-OB) and eating disorders (CBT-E) have been developed, tested and widely implemented in Western society (i.e. Europe and US). In fact and based on European guidelines (i.e. NICE) both treatments are considered as first choice treatments for obesity and eating disorders respectively.
Mrs. Dima Kreydieh and Ms. Dana El-Masri, dietitians from the Nutrition and Dietetics Department at Beirut Arab University, were delegated for the second time to attend a four days intensive training on the CBT-OB and CBT-E, under a strict supervision of Dr Marwan El Ghoch at the Department of Eating and Weight Disorders – Villa Garda Hospital – Verona – Italy.
Mrs. Dima Kreydieh and Ms. Dana El-Masri also attended a workshop entitled “Cognitive-behavioural therapy for adults with eating disorders: Making CBT work in real life settings” on 27 October 2017. They have also attended the National Congress AIDAP 2017 entitled “Improve therapeutic intervention: the contribution of research to clinical practice” on 28 October 2017 in St. Marco hotel – Verona – Italy on October 27-28, 2017.
