Biography

Ghassan Younes earned a PhD in materials chemistry from Claude Bernard University (UCBL), Lyon, France in 1995. He joined Beirut Arab University (BAU) in 1997, where he is currently Assistant Dean of the Faculty of Science at Beirut Arab University since 2012 and he shaired the department of chemistry in 2011. Prior to this post he had served as a faculty member at UCBL  and Lebanese University. His research interests are mainly focused on the growth and characterizations of semiconductor materials, kinetic and corrosion studies, environmental studies, as well as ab-initio calculation and spectroscopic studies.  He currently has several master and PhD students under supervision and he is the author of more than 35 scientific publications including peer-reviewed articles and conference papers. He participated in many research projects.
