Course Description

This course traces the history of American drama from its beginnings until the latter half of the twentieth century. An in-depth study of several plays by O'Neill, touching on his different phases, is followed by a study of Tennessee Williams, Edward Albee and Arthur Miller. Other suggestions could include later writers, such as Lorraine Hansberry and Neil Simon.
