Course Description

  The course is a survey of the diverse forms, registers and varieties of English as used in different media, elaborating on their central role in communication, (cross-)cultural contexts, creative practices, media representations, political debates etc. The course aims to enhance students’ familiarity with different language usages, while developing their reading, writing, critical thinking, communication, presentation and research skills. The course investigates the conventions and mechanics informing language use in different media, including electronic writing etc.
