This course focuses on the role of diet in the management of diseases. The course introduces the principles of the nutritional care process as the basis for the dietary management of diseases. The etiology, pathophysiology, clinical picture of some nutrition related diseases will be discussed. The students will be trained on the development of individualized modified nutrition care plans for patients suffering from gastrointestinal disorders, liver, gall bladder, pancreatic and rheumatic diseases as well as cancer.
