Course Description

Latches and flip-flops. Synchronous and Asynchronous sequential systems. Registers and Counters. Control and Data path units. Serial data transfer for multiple register. Types of RAM and ROM. Cache concept. ALU functions and circuits (addition, subtraction, increment, decrement, transfer, AND, OR, XOR, NOT, etc.). Binary multiplier. BCD functions and circuits. Flags. Control unit. None binary logic. Several laboratory experiments and projects will be based on the simple logic gates to design micro-digital systems. Pre-requisite.: COMP 225.
