BACC 412-International Accounting (3 Crs.)


This course addresses how the internationalization of capital markets and the dramatic increase in the foreign direct investments of multinational enterprises have increased the need for relevant, timely and comparable information about the activities of business enterprises having operations in more than one country. This course describes some of the current developments in accounting and reporting standards at international levels. The cultural values and factors that lead to differences in accounting are examined. In addition, the course discusses accounting treatments for foreign currency transactions and approaches for financial statements translation.
