SOCI 003. LOGIC AND CRITICAL THINKING (2 CR.: 2 LEC.)

This course is designed to help students to improve their thinking skills of thinkingcritically, reasoning clearly, using language precisely, and creatively solving problems. The importance of solid evidence and logical reasoning will be studied in a variety of contexts. Topics covered include, the nature of arguments, deduction and induction, syllogistic logic, propositional logic, quantified predicate logic, fallacious reasoning, and scientific reasoning.
